Old Log Theater Bus Tour
The Arlington Public Library is hosting a bus trip to the Old Log theater to see a performance of “Freckleface Strawberry” on Tuesday, July 9th as a part of the Summer Reading Program. The event will begin at 10:30 am with the bus leaving Arlington to arrive for a 12:30 pm performance arriving back approximately 3:30 pm. Participants will pack a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds prior to the performance. Following the performance, participants will have the opportunity to meet and greet with all the performers and technical staff from the production.
58 attended
An anticipated outcome for this event is that library usage will increase. Participants will use the library more often and be more aware of library events and folktale stories after this event. In past years between 20 and 25 people have attended the Old Log event, it is hoped that this year that number will increase by at least 15 people. Pleasure, amusement, education and entertainment from attendees are also expected outcomes. Another goal is to encourage the performance arts at a young age and to foster a greater appreciation of arts in their future. Surveys will be passed out to participants to rate and critique the day long activity.
Selected comments collected from post-program surveys indicate participants: "I want to be Freckleface when I get older', 'She was really nice', 'I have freckles on my face and people are ncie to me', 'This was the best day ever'.
