Early Out Events
Participants will enjoy the creative process of making their own loom bands and Lego structures; learn about new board games and strategies, jewelry construction, and structural building techniques; and check out new craft and Lego books.
Dork Den provided several board games, such as King of Tokyo and Oz Fluxx, for kids to try out. We had a wide range of kids engaged at this program, from lower-elementary kids to teens. We had an unexpectedly large turnout and did not have enough looms to go around. However, kids brought their own and others used their fingers. If kids didn't have an adult showing them new techniques, they used the library's loom band books or taught each other. It was a great positive environment. We used the Legos Kit from Watonwan County Library and added to it since we clearly needed more if we were to have a crowd as big as the Loom Bands Workshop (and we had EXACTLY the same amount). We loved the wide range of ideas the kids brought to the challenges!
