CLIMB Theatre
We anticipated that attendees will be entertained, learn something new and be encouraged to check out materials from the library. We anticipated that between our two communities, at least 150 kids and families will be in attendance for the performance.
The plays were about 20 minutes long and afterward, there was a 20-minute activity led by the actors that promoted literacy and creativity and art for some of our youngest patrons and their families. The children enjoyed the interactive moments and the humor from the actors. When asked if the children enjoyed the program, nearly everyone raised their hands. Heidi overheard some kids looking through animal books and pointing out facts they had learned during the program (what elephants eat and where they live, etc.). Many items were borrowed from the library after the program. Several moms mentioned this was one of their favorite programs of the summer because it was different from other programs, the kids had to use their imaginations and it was so interactive and educational.
