The Circus is Coming!
Our summer reading program will encourage kids and teens to think of reading as fun and
adventurous, and encourage all patrons to see the library as a place that offers a wide welcome.
By show of hands we will determine: 90% of the participants will have fun at the library, 50% of the participants will learn something new, 50% of the participants will want to learn more about the subject, 70% of the participants will want to come back to the library for more programs.
We had 7 students participate in the art class. They were all very excited as they were all here early and waiting for the class to start. Some had never heard of pointillist style painting before, and thought it was really fun to do. The teacher drew four circus-themed pictures that were divided onto four different canvases. Then when you put the four
canvases together you got the one picture. Each student was able to complete two canvases. They were all excited and wanted to know when the paintings would be hung up and for how long, when they left the class. All the children had fun, they all learned something new about art, some asked if we were going to do another art class
again, and all of them have come back for other programs here at the library.
