Project Overview

The St. Peter Library hosted its first-ever How-To Festival with thirteen half-hour sessions of different how-to topics. We recruited our local St Peter businesses and community members to present at the festival. Participating businesses included: Lonestar BBQ & Grill, Maryann Harty, Mary's Flowers, Janel's Salon, Lager's, St. Peter Food Coop, First National Bank, Family Fresh, Cornerstone Wellness Center and River Rock Coffee. Library staff also presented. We also offered snacks and refreshments throughout the day, as well as donated door prizes from local businesses Jake's Pizza, Whiskey River and McDonald's.

Participants appeared to thoroughly enjoy the program. Library staff received a lot of praise, compliments and comments from attendees. Based on informal discussions with attendees, none had attended a How-To Festival previously, and many learned a new skill. Comments from participants included:" Delightful." "A wonderful program." "Such a fun idea." "Enjoyable." All participants appeared to have a pleasant, learning experience.
