Booked: Live Bands at your Library 2015
Provide a venue for communities to enjoy live music without having to make a long drive; bring younger adults into libraries in larger numbers than more typical library programs.
329 attendees experienced the Minneapolis/St Paul music scene at the eight performances held throughout Scott County (attendance for the two
Live at the Library events, 53, is reported separately).
131 evaluations were returned, and 128 rated program quality as 4 or 5 (out of 5; with 1 = Poor and 5 = Excellent.
In the evaluations for the four adult programs, 58% indicated they were under 55 (compared to 30-50% that is more typical of library programs).
73 out of 125 responded with a 4 or 5 (out of 5: with 1 = Strongly Disagree and 5 = Strongly Agree) to the statement, “I could not see this performer live if the library did not bring them here.”
Following are samples of comments from the evaluations in answer to the question, “What did you like best about the program:” “Intimate--feel like I got experience will not/could not get otherwise.” (Chastity Brown); “I liked how it showed me not to hide.” (Guante); “How she interacted with the children between songs. Beautiful music.” (Amanda Grace); “loved the performance and convenience (I live in Shakopee)” (Chris Koza); “very talented group--very intimate setting” (Elbow Room).
