Booked: Live Bands at Your Library 2014
Provide a venue for communities to enjoy live music without having to make a long drive; bring younger adults into the libraries in larger numbers than more typical library programs.
833 people attended the eight performances held throughout Scott County (attendance for the four Live at the Library events, 237, is reported separately). 164 evaluations were returned, and 152 rated program quality/enjoyment as 4 or 5 (out of 5; with 1 = Strongly Disagree and 5 = Strongly Agree). In the evaluations for the four adult programs, 63% indicated they were under 55 (compared to 30-50% that is more typical of library programs). Following are comments from the evaluations: favorite part of the program was “…the fact that one of the most talented bands in the Twin Cities played locally,” (The Cactus Blossoms); “More fun than a prank of otters,” (Crankshaft); “A pure pleasure – excellent use of Legacy $,” (Peter Ostrouschko and Dean Magraw); “Fun, upbeat, great performance…we just moved to MN,” (Koo Koo Kanga Roo).
