Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)
  • On-site survey: At least 75% of participants will answer the following questions in the affirmative:
    • "Do you consider this event a positive cultural and artistic expression of the Ojibwe or Anishinaabe community?”
    • “Do you have a greater appreciation for powwow music and traditions as a result of attending this event?” of those who are not very familiar with powwows, 75% will answer the following in the affirmative:
    • "Did you learn new information about powwow traditions and Anishinaabe culture at this event?”
  • Online survey: We will ask the following of listeners who did not attend the event in person: “Do you have a greater appreciation for powwow music and traditions as a result of hearing the broadcast of this event?”
  • Head Count: It is important to our success that this event is intercultural and includes both American Indian people and non-Indians. We are hoping for close to a 50/50 mix of indian and non-indian cultures, although anything above 25/75 would be highly successful. We will measure this by counting how many people attend this event. We will also visually estimate the percentage of people from different cultural backgrounds who attended. Because sharing food is so important, we will also count how many of each attend the traditional feast at the end of the powwow.
