The purpose of this program is to conduct additional requested conservation education programs for school and other groups. This program expands the reach of conservation education to local communities.

About the Issue

The capacity for meeting the demand for conservation education programs by schools and other groups has been expanded with the addition of new park naturalist, Minnesota Naturalist Corps and visitor center host positions.

The division set a goal to conduct 1,000 requested conservation education programs by the end of the biennium.
Measurable Outcome(s) 
In 2011, a total of 1,414 requested conservation education programs were delivered. This again exceeded the 1,000 program goal.

During the calendar year 2009 and 2010, a total of 2,307 requested conservation education programs were conducted. This number greatly exceeds proposed outcome of 1,000.
