HOBis an event focusing on literacy and the importance of books and reading in our daily lives. All activities and presentations were free and attendees left with many art projects, and memories. Music to listen to and dancers to watch. Everything was tied to reading and inspired by a book.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

2,000 individuals young and old participated in a celebration of of the arts and the joy of reading. Authors and illustrators shared the process of writing and illustrating books and the work involved to bring it to a book to be read and loved. Book signing and a variety of entertainment was experienced by all.

Measurable Outcome(s)

More than 2,000 individuals of all ages, young and old from Carver and Hennepin County joined in the event celebrating the joy of life long reading and the variety of art surrounding us. Families loved that there was something for everyone. Authors and an illustrator shared the development of bringing an idea to the culmination of an actual printed book. Book signing and a variety of entertainment, crafts, vendors, was experienced by attendees.
