Recipient Type:
For-Profit Business/Entity
Status:
Completed
Activity Type:
Analysis/Interpretation, Assessment/Evaluation, Grants/Contracts, Research
Counties Affected
Statewide

The project included identifying, describing, and testing alternative methods for assessing risks from contaminants of emerging concern with limited available toxicity information. It is anticipated that the outcome of the project will be alternative methods capable of generating health-protective guidance that is consistent with guidance developed using current methodology.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Develop a process that maximizes the ability to provide health-based guidance to the public and regulators and to minimize the situations where it is infeasible to provide guidance due to availability of toxicity data.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Increase the number of available risk assessment methodologies for the evaluation of potential human health risks from contaminants of emerging concern in drinking water when toxicity data is limited.
