The goal of this project is to produce a public concert on July 18, 2019. The second half of the concert will be devoted to a premiere of the orchestral version of Bradley Bombardier's BRITTLE, BRIGHT. The lyrics will be drawn from a volume of poems of the same title by Marion Thompson van Steenwyk. Soloist for the premiere will mezzo-soprano Sarah Knott. The artistic evaluation will be made by the LSCO's Artistic Director and Board of Directors based on formal and informal evaluations from participant musicians, from comments of audience members and from reviews in the press. One of the unique aspects of the LSCO is the informal reception held after each concert. This is organized by the LSCO Board of Directors and attended by LSCO musicians, soloists, conductor and is open to all concert attendees. The informal discussions that take place during this special time offers a unique opportunity to gauge public opinion. Effectiveness of marketing and promotional strategies will be judged by audience size and media coverage.
