By providing arts experiences, the impact of the CAAC organization is strengthened and by expanding its reach into the community is enriching the ways they connect to the Canby and surrounding communities through the arts. Prairie Five Rides will provide opportunities for those in need of transportation. Music residency will provide a deeper look into the life of a singer/songwriter, musician via artist talk/performance in an intimate setting for ages 6-100+. Children attending the artist talk/performance sessions will be impacted by an understanding of what it means to experience life as a musician, singer songwriter, performer. Participants of Art in the Park classes/workshops will experience and learn about new art mediums and techniques while utilizing creative thinking skills. We will track attendance and track the number of people utilizing the Prairie Five Rides transportation option to attend Music on Mondays. We will survey audiences at each 2021 Music on Mondays event with paper and online survey options available. Pre/Post surveys at The Connection Youth Center and Canby Public Library will identify if the experience has help the participant grow as a person through this experience and stimulate interest in music. We will also Survey Art in the Park participants to see how effective the classes/workshops were to help artists grow in their creative process and learn new skills.
Charlie Roth/Matt Fockler was the first performance for residents at Sanford Health since before the pandemic -- much appreciated by residents and staff. Very impactful experience for the Connection youth as well (ages 4-8), as only two in the group said they had previously experienced a live performance by singer/songwriters. Music on Mondays crowds ranged from around 100 to 250. There was low participation in the Prairie Five Rides transportation option, but it meant a great deal to those who did use it. The Art in the Park workshop series was very well received and surveys showed the instructors/facilitators were considered excellent. Comments showed that there is a great deal of interest in future arts opportunities.
